Recently, Adecco Vietnam has just published the publication "Survey of career choices and work motivation". This document focuses on important aspects of career choice, along with factors that promote the working ability of Vietnamese workers.
Survey results show that salary and financial benefits are still the top priority for employees, followed closely by professional recognition and job satisfaction. However, when asked about the reason for leaving the job, lack of career development opportunities was the top reason (51.3%), followed by better opportunities (32.4%) and poor relationships. good with direct boss (10.8%).
Explaining this, Ms. Le Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Director of the City Office. Ho Chi Minh City, Adecco Vietnam said: "There are many factors that impact the working experience of workers, most of which are not related to finance. In addition to financial welfare, many employees Internal factors such as career development opportunities, company culture, and relationships between colleagues can still be controlled to prevent talent bleeding."
The survey also revealed very interesting information about generation Z (1995-2015) - the newest member of the workforce, with 48.11% of generation Z knowing their current career through social networks. Social networks have surpassed information from school (18.86%), friends (17.92%) and traditional media (5.66%) to become the leading source of career information.
"Vietnam's Generation Z, with the advantage of training and the ability to search for information, becomes proactive in their careers earlier than previous generations. They start looking for internship opportunities from their first year. University, and don't be afraid to expand your relationships through events. However, your skills are still theoretical and need to be trained more during the working process, especially soft skills. ", commented Mr. Andree Manges - General Director of Adecco Malaysia & Vietnam.
In fact, when asked about the best place to train work skills, 48.55% of Vietnamese generation Z said they were trained through internships, 40.75% through club activities and 34.7% % through part-time work. Many large companies today focus on developing talent from school, with the desire to build a highly specialized talent fund that is suitable for their working style and company culture.
With the development trend and increasing demand for high-quality talent in Vietnam, companies need to carefully learn about the reasons that affect the career choice and work motivation of employees, especially across different ages and career periods, thereby building a reasonable strategy to attract, retain and develop appropriate talent sources.
