Notably, there are 3 individuals paying taxes of over 7 billion VND (the highest is 23 billion VND) with revenue corresponding to the amount of tax paid being more than 100 billion VND. Individuals register, declare and pay taxes at the Tax Departments of Districts, Towns, and Areas where individuals permanently or temporarily reside.
Since 2017, Hanoi Tax Department has actively implemented tax management for e-commerce activities. The Tax Department sent messages to subscribers with sales addresses on social networks with 13,000 messages and identified over 2,000 individuals carrying out tax declaration registration procedures.
In addition, the Hanoi Tax Department sent invitations to over 1,194 individuals to the Tax Branches for guidance from tax authorities on policies and tax declaration and payment. Hanoi Tax Department recommends that business individuals with e-commerce activities need to proactively register, declare and pay taxes with tax authorities in accordance with the law.
In cases of intentional failure to register, declare and pay taxes, tax authorities will conduct inspections, examinations and sanctions for tax evasion and tax fraud according to regulations. For individuals who do not comply with the inspection/examination decision, the Tax Department will compile and transfer documents to the investigation agency for prosecution according to the provisions of law.
